I remember the first day I saw this horse. I remember first step he took on Chapman Springs Ranch. Man how he has changed my life! I bought him to be a trail horse, not my horse, just a horse to be put in the string. Little did I know that, he would become my heart horse, and that the person who sold me him, was a con-artist and horse trader. All I knew is that first things first, he was getting a new barn name, because “Kisses” was not a name for a horse. The moment he stepped off the trailer there was something in his eyes. Something different. He instantly reminded me of myself. His eyes were strong on the surface, but tender and scared the deeper you looked into them. He didn’t want to show fear or pain, but it was there. His body language extruded power, grace and pride, but in the same stance seemed too long for compassion and love. As I do with all new horses on the ranch I took him on a walk. A walk around the ranch, through the trails, the creeks and into his new pasture he would call home. Something was different with this horse. He could feel you. You could feel him. He physically showed no weakness, yet his eyes spoke his pain. The next morning I took him on the same walk and then into the round pen. While brushing him down I noticed a small bump on his last rib on his right side. The moment I touch it his whole body shook. He turned his head and looked right at me. He didn’t kick, didn’t bite, he just exhaled. As I approached his face he literally KISSED ME. He wrapped his neck around me and ‘held’ me. I called the vet and our chiropractor. Had them both come out and do a full exam and adjustment. It was discovered that he had a serious back injury that was never addressed and may be fatal. Later I would learn, through his fame here on Instagram, that he was injured by a pervious owner ( which no one knew about until I got him ), sold as a sound horse only later to learn he was unrideable. He was then sold to the woman I bought him from as a bucking horse or a glue prospect. He was sold to me as a…. ****Continued in comments****

Currently on a flight… …going 498 MPH. Flying 30,000 feet above granite mountains… …in a tin can that has hundreds of gallons of some of the most flammable fuel known to man. Everything is fine… 🤪 Who ever thought humans could fly around the rock at 500 MPH on a Tuesday must of been a genius and and admired by all… Oh wait… They were called crazy. Losers. Idiots and laughed at. Called the demise of our species. They were judged for their ideas, for their test flights, for their failures. But here is the crazier thing… while we judge others at a level that is just plan silly… …it’s not that judging that is ruining the future of our species. It is something so much worse. It’s us judging… OURSELVES 👨‍⚖️ We judge ourselves when it comes to… well everything. When it comes to being “perfect” enough. When it comes to failing if we try. When it comes to trying something new we have “no right” to try. We judge ourselves so hard that we don’t even do. We stall and make excuses not to live with regret. And it’s there in that lies one of the ingredients that is destroying our species. Judgement of one’s self. So… Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The outcast. Those that think the impossible is possible. It’s those crazy heads that have and will shape the world. Get out of your own way. Do the thing you judge yourself the most about. Be more today than you were yesterday by simply doing what you’re talking yourself out of doing. Be your biggest cheerleader instead of your biggest critic. I can’t even tell you how many times I have wanted to quit in my life. Give it. Just be done. Wether it’s in business or personal. The last 2 years have tested us all. They have pushed us all to a point we never imagined we would be. All of us have struggled in one way or another. From losing loved ones to navigating our family through unprecedented times. I don’t care how “cowboy” or macho or bad ass you want to say you are… the last 2 years have tested us. Some days I feel like I’ve come out on top and other days I feel I have been beaten to a bloody end. But through it all I’ve had the voice in my head always yelling, “don’t quit, don’t surrender!” I’ve had the beautiful @jodiejchapman by my side screaming “do the dis…” I mean… “we got this!” 😎 I have a team willing to put in the work 7 days a week to get things done regardless of the task. Regardless of the ask. I have some of the most amazing mentors and a circle of influence that always pushes me to be more, do more and to give more. We are all on this rock together. All circling around the same ball of flame. All wondering how much worse it can get… but we have to remember we have only two options: Quit or don’t quit.
